The Ontario Hockey League today announced that London Knights' goaltender Gerald Coleman is the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday January 23 after recording two shutouts in three games. Coleman posted a 2-0-0 record, along with a 1.13 goals against average and .959 save percentage.
Coleman made 34 saves and was the game's first star in a 5-0 win over the Kingston Frontenacs on January 21. He followed up with a 27-save performance in a 5-0 win over the Ottawa 67's on January 23. Coleman gave up three goals in relief during a 6-2 loss to the Peterborough Petes on January 20.
The 19-year-old native of Romeoville, Illinois, improved his season record to 24-1-2 and lowered his league-leading goals against average to 1.60 in 29 games.

Coleman was named OHL goaltender of the month for the second time this year after putting together a 7-0-0 record, along with a 1.70 goals against average and .941 save percentage in eight games. The 19-year-old from Romeoville, Illinois, had three shutouts last month, including back-to-back wins against Kingston on January 21 and Ottawa on January 23. Coleman has a league-high six shutouts this season and leads all OHL goaltenders with a 1.76 goals against average and .938 save percentage, along with a 26-1-2 record in 31 games.
